MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The Vancouver branch of Ukrainian Canadian Social Services was created in 1989. Our mandate is to provide humanitarian aid. Over the years, projects have in-cluded sending containers of medical supplies and equipment, medicines, hospital beds, wheelchairs, clothing and food to hospitals and clinics.

We have aided Ukrainian orphanages and children’s tuberculosis sanatoriums, and coordinated a blankets and winter clothing drive.

There are a lot of good deeds on the UCSS account, but there are some new and challenging projects that we’ll be honoured to lead in the future. We look forward to getting new young members and empower them by giving them projects to run and by in-corporating their perspective into the organization’s mission.

There are a lot of people work-ing behind the scenes to ensure the success of our charitable work. My sincere thanks to our founders Velentina Kaspryk, Valentina Revutska, and Stepan Petelycky for their hard work, dedication and twenty years of services, past president Adam Kozak, and past treasurer John Tymchak.

Sincerely,

Svitlana Kominko, President
